See All ReviewsThe wife and I decided to stop and try out the tenderloin here based on Google reviews as we were traveling back from Chicago. First thing, it is a bar and from my travels I have found some of the best food in small neighborhood bars. Second, it was a Saturday late afternoon/early evening. There was a gentlemen to the left of the door nursing a bucket of beers and 5 patrons sitting at the bar consisting of 2 youngish ladies and a mix of 3 guys. The barmaid and a guy doing various things either an owner or a worker. We ordered our tenderloins and waited at 30 minutes for our food. The only food in the kitchen to be made from what I could tell. I reminded my wife that we are in a bar and the barmaid appears to be doing double duty between the kitchen and tending bar. Plus, we were really hungry so that added to the feeling of a long wait. The tenderloins to our surprise were battered and not breaded. Keep that in mind. It did not register with us when we read the menu. We were split on the result. I thought the tenderloin was good and the wife did not like the batter concept. My only real complaint was the amount (too much) of salt used in my tater tots. I want to hear and feel the crunch in that first bite, not have it taken from my mind the moment the salt hits my tongue. If you want a tenderloin battered instead of breaded or never had one that way, I’d recommend giving them a try when in the Quad City area. Just ask for lite or no salt on the tots.
Use to love this place for food. Told everyone their chicken strip were awesome. Like Long John's on steroids. But the last 2 times we've gotten them the quality was lacking. The strips are half the size and although the menu says 4 we have only gotten three the last couple times. One of them the size of a pinky finger. For $13.50 not a good deal. The rest of their food has been good in the past and haven't had anything other than chicken lately. Don't if we will be back for awhile.
They have the biggest and best tenderloins! Their burgers and fries are pretty good too.
